Rice Farmers in Obubra L.G.A of Cross River State call on FG for help

The hottest Nigerian newz team visited a local Rice Mill in Obubra L.G.A of Cross River State today, to find out how prepare they are to feed the whole country since federal government has placed ban on foreign Rice. 

The young man on the photo explain how difficult it is to produce Rice in large quantity since FG has refused to provide Rice milling machines for them. 

He now call on FG to come and help them with enough support to enable them to produce Nigerian made Rice in large quantity to feed the whole nation.

He also explain that the rice milling machines are too Expensive for them to afford.

If government provide us with necessary requirements, we will be able to provide enough rice and sell them at very affordable price.

Currently the rice is #15000 per 50kg bag.

How high is rice consumption in Nigeria?

Here we are, in the most populous country of Africa.

Over the year, Nigeria rice consumption has been massively increasing. And the number one reason is because rice is one of the major types of food which almost every Nigerian takes.

Every year, Nigerians consume about 5.5 million tons of rice. But only 3.6 million tons of these 5.5 million tons are locally produced. And most of the farmers who produce rice, do it for their personal consumption.

Many of them really don’t go into the rice farming business with the knowledge and technicality it requires to succeed, that’s why most just produce local Nigerian rice, i.e Ofada Rice.

From this, we can see that the production demand on rice is exceedingly high. This is a very good reason why you should invest in rice production because it is a legitimate way of making huge money.
