Coutinho Earns Almost €1m Per Match At Bayern Munich.click to read...

Phillipe Coutinho, Bayern Munich’s marquee signing in the summer, hasn’t fully settled in at Bavaria yet.

The Brazilian’s recent performances leave much to be desired and, as a result, he has been benched for club icon Thomas Müller - whom Bayern’s new coach, Hansi Flick, appears to prefer in the number 10 position.

In August, we found out the terms of Bayern’s deal for the “little magician,” €8.5 million in loan fee, and his full wages of €25 million gross.

Now, Bild has crunched the numbers further and figured out just how much Coutinho earns per game.

According to Bild’s numbers, Coutinho will cost at least €657,000 per fixture - enough money to by two Lamborghini Aventador’s or 7308 Bayern jerseys!

Furthermore, this number is calculated in the hypothetical situation that Bayern plays in every single possible game this season, meaning they will get to the final of the Champions League and DFB cup.

Another factor that is not taken into account is the number of games that Coutinho will miss because of injury or being on the bench.

In addition, a number for a situation in which Bayern play the least number of games possible was calculated, with the Brazillian costing €837,500 per match in this circumstance.

More and more, the signing of Coutinho is seeming like a poor deal from a financial perspective. For his one season in Munich, Coutinho will cost Bayern €33.5m, and the player frankly hasn’t performed well enough to warrant such a fee and wages more than seasoned veterans including Robert Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer, and Thiago.

Hopefully he can start playing better in the future to justify his likely €800,000+ price per fixture.
