Chelsea are amongst the list of interested parties in Jadon Sancho.
Although Chelsea are unable to sign new players until next summer, that has not stopped them planning ahead and looking at fresh targets.
One of those said is to be England international Sancho with Bild suggesting Chelsea are one of the prospective clubs he could join.
The German outlet are claiming that along with the Stamford Bridge outfit, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City are all potential destinations.
The Blues have started well so far this term, and that is in part thanks to a mixture of youth and experience on the wings.
Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi have a combined four goals and 10 assists already, whilst Willian’s performances have earned him a nomination for October’s Premier League Player of the Month.
However, the Brazil international is 31 years old, and as such, a new winger could well be on the shopping list next summer. Former Manchester City winger Jadon Sancho would be the missing piece to Lampard’s Chelsea puzzle.
Although just 19 years of age, the £90m-valued wide man is already a footballing superstar. In the Bundesliga, he is one of the best players, being included in the division’s Team of the Season last term.
His record in Germany is stellar. In his first 69matches for Die Schwargelben, he has 18 goals and a very impressive 30 assists. This has led to him being selected 10 times already for England, for whom he has picked up two goals and threeassists.
His performances have drawn some huge praise from the biggest names in the game. For example, 150-time former Germany international Lothar Matthaus said he is “a perfect player” and added he was in awe of him when he watched him perform for the Three Lions’ U17 side.
Sancho has the potential to go all the way to the very top, no doubt about it. He has pace, can score, can assist and can beat his man. As Matthaus alludes to, he has it all and would be an asset to any side on the planet.
Yes, he will not come cheap but, considering Chelsea have been able to save money during the summer, they will likely have a large spending fund next year. The arrival of Sancho would complete Lampard’s attacking line-up for years to come.
